Contribution to Green Star Credits GreenFirst
Greenfirst products from The Laminex Group support the Green Star rating tools of the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).

Created by the Green Building Council of Australia, Green Star is Australia's first comprehensive rating system devised to evaluate the environmental design and performance of buildings, and to drive the adoption of green building practices through market-based solutions. The Green Star rating system is based on a number of criteria. Its objectives are to be able to clearly define "green" building and establish a common standard of measurement; promote integrated whole of building design, to raise awareness of "green" building benefits, identify building life cycle impacts and to recognise and reward environmental leadership. For more information on Green Star, visit the GBCA website www.gbcaus.org.

The table below outlines those products that contribute to the different criteria of the Green Star Office Interiors v1.1 rating tool. The application of the products in a system or solution will determine the total number of Green Star credits. For detailed factsheets on each product click on the product name below.

Products made completely of laminate which are not pressed onto a wood product substrate (i.e. High Pressure Laminates and Compact Laminates) are not considered to be composite wood products and are therefore not subject to the Formaldehyde Minimisation and Sustainable Timber credits in Green Star rating tools.

Many products can also contribute to the achievement of credits for MAT-1: Workstations, MAT-3: Walls & Partitions, MAT-5: Tables and MAT-6: Storage. As further Green Star rating tools are developed, specific information on how Greenfirst products can contribute to achieving points will be available.

FSCThe Laminex Group has been awarded the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain of Custody for the introduction of the Laminex FSC Timber Veneer product range.
