Aiming for Better Environmental Outcomes GreenFirst
Our commitment to the environment and our ongoing philosophy is demonstrated in the achievement of a number of goals including:
  • ISO 14001 certification has been achieved in all major manufacturing sites across Australia and New Zealand.
  • An independent Life Cycle Analysis has been initiated for future development of environmental performance and improvement.
  • Waste and emission reduction, resource conservation, recycling and sustainable development are demonstrated in manufacturing processes and the selection of raw materials.
  • Greater utilisation of wood waste as an input material into our products.
  • The use of wood sander dust and other unusable wood waste as a source of bioenergy thereby diverting material from landfill, reducing vehicle movements and reducing our demand for fossil fuel generated electricity.
  • Becoming a key driver of change in collaboration with environmental authorities.
  • Sourcing fibre for our products from forests that are part of the international framework of certification schemes. This includes Forest Stewardship Council (FSC™), Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) amongst others.
  • Meet statutory and regulatory requirements with respect to the environment.
